Aamir puts Osho on standby
The actor is currently focussing all his energies on Thugs of Hindostan.
Director Shakun Batra of Kapoor and Sons fame has a script ready for a film about Osho aka Bhagwan Rajneesh, and he’s hoping to rope in Aamir Khan to play the lead role. But the actor has not yet greenlighted the project because he’s busy focusing on the impending release of Thugs of Hindostan. He hasn’t had any time to spend with the makers of the Osho film.
“Thugs of Hindostan, which stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, is one of YRF’s most ambitious films to date. Aamir is working closely with the marketing team and spearheading the promotional campaign, and so he cannot distance himself from the project. He doesn’t like to just skim the surface of a script before giving it his nod, he likes to get into the nitty-gritty and find out every detail. Hence the project on Osho will happen only when Aamir gets free,” a source reveals.
Meanwhile, another project that’s awaiting Aamir’s approval is the three-part Mahabharata series.
