Even as the release of Padmavati has been postponed, Ranveer Singh is moving on in life. The actor was spotted along with co-star Alia Bhatt on Monday, visiting director Zoya Akhtar. The two were purportedly there to discuss their forthcoming film Gully Boy, which sees Ranveer play the role of a rapper.
“Ranveer is keen to move on,” says our source. “He has already committed dates to Zoya for the film, and hence can’t let everything wait. He has already been told to not do media interviews for Padmavati before the release. And after the indefinite postponement of the movie, he cannot let other films, including Gully Boy, suffer, because he’s a thorough professional. The Padmavati shoot already meant that Gully Boy’s pre-production work was under stress. And this postponement will not let it be hampered further. Thankfully, everyone in the film industry — including Zoya — understands how Sanjay Leela Bhansali works. So they have given Ranveer a lot more space.”
Ranveer’s character in Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of rappers Naezy and Divine. The actor also had to refuse Shimit Amin’s movie because he was stuck between his other commitments.
