Aamir Khan replaces Akshay Kumar for Mogul, Akki returns signing amount?
The rights of the film lie with T-Series head honcho and Gulshan Kumar's son Bhushan Kumar.
Mumbai: Akshay Kumar was the official face of ‘Mogul’, a biopic on music maestro Gulshan Kumar. News reports stated since a long time that the actor has quit the project. To this news, Akshay even responded saying that he’s the face of the project and it hasn’t gone on floors, so these are just rumours. But the “just rumours” refuse to die down.
DNA is now the latest one to claim that a reliable source has confirmed that Akki not only quit the film, but also returned his signing amount.
Akshay is going to be seen as ‘Padman’ on February 9th. The movie is produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna, and the actor claims he hasn’t charged a penny for the film.
The film is supporting the social cause of menstrual health, a second for Akshay, who released his movie ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ last year to spread awareness about basic hygiene by using a toilet.
What comes as an even more surprising fact is that Aamir Khan has come on board for ‘Mogul’, as a producer for sure, but as an actor, nothing has been confirmed yet.
A source told the daily, “Aamir will produce this biopic, which itself is an important development. Whether he will play the lead is not yet decided. No other details are known as of now.”
The movie is helmed by Akshay’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’ director Subhash Kapoor and if Aamir comes on board, it will be the first time that Subhash and Aamir work together.
It is quite epic that the man who says ‘yes’ to movies more often (Akshay Kumar) might have to let go of this role for the actor who rejects more roles than he accepts them (Aamir Khan).
The rights of the film lie with T-Series head honcho and Gulshan Kumar’s son Bhushan Kumar, who has some cordial relationship with Aamir as compared to Akshay.
