Mumbai: Vidya Balan is one of the few Bollywood actresses to have brilliantly carried films on her shoulders and delivered hits with it.

The national award winning actress is back again, in a cracker of a role, playing the eponymous 'Begum Jaan' in the Srijit Mukherji's remake of his own Bengali feature, 'Rajkahini'.

The first song of the film, 'Prem Mein Tohre,' which released earlier today, has her emoting to her heart's content to conflicting situations.

The actress bares her soul, and performs to the song composed by Anu Malik, and crooned by the legendary Asha Bhosle. The song, written by Kausar Munim, stealthily reminds one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Laal Ishq,' and even Anu's own 'Moh Moh Ke Dhaage'.

The picturisation speaks volumes of the director's vision, emphasising on the pain and melancholy of the brothel residents. The film, also starring Gauahar Khan, Ila Arun, Pallavi Sharda and Naseeruddin Shah is slated to release on April 14.
