Gauhar Khan to play a mum
The actress will be seen playing mom to an 18-year-old in her upcoming short film, Peanut Butter.
Gauhar Khan certainly knows how to experiment with different roles, and indeed, doesn’t shy away from going de-glam for roles. This time around, Gauhar has signed up to play a mother on-screen.
The actress will be seen playing mom to an 18-year-old in her upcoming short film, Peanut Butter.
Says Manu Chobe, the director of the movie, “The film is about the relationship between a mother and a son. We’re planning to release it on Women's Day, as it will be a tribute to all the women. It’s a beautiful film, and Gauhar is playing a 28-year-old mother to an 18-year-old son.”
When quizzed about the seemingly improbable age difference between mother and son in his movie, Manu smiled and said, “That’s the whole point of the movie. You’ll have to wait and watch how it plays out.”
The director is pleased with Gauhar’s act in the movie. “She’s done a great job, and is a phenomenal actor. People have not figured out other dimensions to her personality. That’s why we wanted to try something different.”
