Mumbai: After entertaining audiences for decades with his performances on the big screen, Kamal Haasan is all set to make his debut on the small screen too with the Tamil version of ‘Bigg Boss’.

The superstar has now confirmed that he will be hosting the reality show.

Kamal told The Quint, "Yes, I am doing Bigg Boss in Tamil. I’ve tried many different roles in various capacities as an entertainer but never as a host on a television show. Reality television is so far not a reality in my career. I want to see what it feels like."

Salman Khan is one of the reasons for the immense popularity of the Hindi version of the show.

The superstar has redefined hosting on television with his witty one-liners and even for pulling up contestants for some of their actions and Haasan was also praises for the Bollywood star’s hosting style.

Haasan said, “Salman genuinely bonds with the contestants on Bigg Boss. There is no pretension or patronising in his attitude. Being friendly comes naturally to him. And he gives advice as a friend, not as a mentor."

He added, "There is none of the I-know-better superiority in his attitude. I’d also like to bond genuinely with the contestants, though how it goes will depend entirely on how they perceive me, as a friend or as a mentor."

Talking about his other projects, Haasan, said, "I am running behind schedule because for eight months I wasn’t running at all, thanks to my fractured foot. I am now working simultaneously on completing the comedy Shabash Naidu and the post-production of Vishwaroop 2. The Bigg Boss schedules have been worked into my other commitments. Let’s see how it goes."

Fans of Kamal Haasan would definitely be excited to see him in his fresh avatar.
