Deepika Padukone is likely to star in the remake of Sridevi's superhit film
The name of the film hasn't been revealed as yet but it was a project that was made four decades ago with Sridevi in the lead.
Mumbai: After the spectacular success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial period drama 'Padmaavat', Deepika Padukone is surely looking for yet another meaty role to show her versatility as an actress. The 'Cocktail' actress hasn’t signed any film at this point except Vishal Bhardwaj’s film on a mafia queen Sapna Didi. However, that film is likely to go on floors only after co-star Irrfan’s health improves.
Now, according to some reports, Deepika has been offered the remake of Sridevi’s superhit film. The name of the film hasn't been revealed as yet but reportedly it was a project that was made four decades ago with the late actress in the lead.
A source revealed to DNA, "The original Sridevi film was made by a producer from the South and helmed by a Bollywood director. However, talks are on to procure the rights and remake it with Deepika. Nobody is willing to comment on the subject because talks have just been mooted and there are a lot of modalities involved. However, it is true that Deepika is in the know."
Well, it would surely be interesting to see Deepika breathing a new life in Sridevi's one of the iconic acts.
Meanwhile, the talk of the town is the much-awaited wedding of Deepika and Ranveer Singh. Reportedly, the lovebirds will be tying the knot on November 10, 2018.
