Saaho's eyeing Baahubali 2's release date
If all goes according to the plan, the film will hit silver screen in the last week of April 2019.
The makers of Prabhas’ upcoming multilingual film Saaho are hoping to channel some of Baahubali 2’s success by picking the same date as the blockbuster hit. The second movie in the Baahubali series, India’s second highest grosser to date, was released on April 28, 2017, and Saaho is also looking at a release date in the fourth week of April 2019.
“Filmmakers often look at the dates that have worked for them in the past. After the two Baahubali movies, Prabhas has a lot more fans all over India. And since the makers want this film to do well nationally, they may finalise a date in the last week of April, in consultation with distributors across the country. Unlike Baahubali, though, the Hindi version of Saaho is being backed by T-Series, not Karan Johar,” a source says.
Apart from Prabhas, Saaho also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh. The film is currently in the post-production stage, and the makers are expected to announce a release date once they know for sure when the VFX work will be completed to their satisfaction.
