Anurag Basu drops Ranbir, picks up Abhishek Bachchan
A knowledgeable source reveals, Anurag Basu's next film is a sequel to his 2007 hit, Life In A Metro.
After Barfi! and Jagga Jasoos, looks like Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor won’t be getting together to do a third film any time soon.
Despite the bad blood that flowed between them after the colossal failure of Jagga Jasoos and Rishi Kapoor’s subsequent accusations of the filmmaker having squandered time and money in making an over-indulgent film, there was much talk that the two would work together again.
Ranbir and Basu even assured the junta that their relationship was in a fine shape and that they would be collaborating soon, possibly for a Kishore Kumar biopic.
However, rumour has it that Ranbir will not be a part of Basu’s next film.
A knowledgeable source reveals, “Anurag Basu’s next film is a sequel to his 2007 hit, Life In A Metro. It will have four different storylines — one of them will star Abhishek Bachchan, and another will feature Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. The film won’t feature Ranbir Kapoor. The actor is taking a break from his favourite director”
Meanwhile, it seems to be the season of Anurag’s in Abhishek’s career. After doing Manmarziyaan with Anurag Kashyap, looks like he’s all set to work with the industry’s other Anurag.
