Befikre gets its record
While the film may have tanked on the box office, Befikre's Nashe Si Chadh Gayi is the first Hindi song to get 300 million views on YouTube.
After Befikre failed to take off, it proved to be one of the biggest duds in Aditya Chopra’s career. Aditya, who has previously directed films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, failed badly for the first time.
But there’s some respite for the film. Befikre now has a record to it, and it is not a dubious one.
The song Nashe Si Chadh Gayi, sung by Arijit Singh and Caralisa Monteiro, has become the first Hindi movie song to cross 300 million views on YouTube. The music of the film has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and produced by Mikey McCleary.
“It is unprecedented,” remarks Ranveer Singh about the success of the song.
Interestingly, there were reports of plagiarism against the composers. Many pointed out that the song was very similar to the song from an anime series, Junjou Romantica. Vishal dismissed it as an “uncanny co-incidence.” “There is no doubt that the first lines of both the songs are the same,” he admitted.
