Sonu Sood's demolition notice stayed
Accordingly, the court granted a stay on the demolition order.
Mumbai: A Dindoshi court has directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) not to act on its earlier demolition notice issued to Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, asking him to raze an allegedly illegal alteration made to his Khar restaurant.
The court held that there was already a court order to maintain status quo and that the recent order issued by the BMC required a civic order, which was yet to be passed. Accordingly, the court granted a stay on the demolition order.
Sood had approached the court through his lawyer, Makarand Raut, challenging the BMC notice issued last year. The notice was issued, as some construction work was underway at a restaurant owned by the actor.
However, since Sood challenged the order, the court granted status quo, implying that the structure would remain as it was until further orders.
