Marriage has been lucky for me: Prateik Babbar
In addition to Skyfire, Prateik is already shooting another web series Virkar & The Anti-Social Network. He will also be seen in Rajnikanth's Darbar.
It’s hard to predict the kind of film Prateik Babbar will do next. Last year, the experimental actor played the role of a young militant in Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk. Now, he can be seen playing the lead in the web series Skyfire that is a slick futuristic drama from Zee5.
Talking about his latest web series, Prateik says, “We shot the whole series in just a couple of months without compromising on the quality. And now, the praise I am getting for my performance and for the series makes me feel like I am finally getting there. Marriage has been lucky for me, I guess.”
In addition to Skyfire, Prateik is already shooting another web series Virkar & The Anti-Social Network. He will also be seen in Rajnikanth’s Darbar.
Says the actor, “I am so honored to be in the same frame as him. I’d have played anything they asked me, just to be seen with Rajini sir. Luckily for me, I have a good role. It is again an anti-social role of a druggie and a criminal.”
Speaking of drugs, a few years ago, Prateik had opened up about his battle with drug addiction. And now, the actor has successfully cleaned up his act. “It is my wife. She is such a positive influence on me. I have stopped all the negativity in my life. Now there is only love,” he gushes.
The actor, who got hitched to his longtime girlfriend, Sanya Sagar earlier this year, reveals that he met his wife a decade ago. “We connected socially. From an acquaintance, she became a friend. Then she went away for some years. After that, we got really close and decided to get married. Marriage is the best thing to have happened to me. It feels wonderful to have someone to go back home toagain. I lost my beloved Naani (grandmother) some time back. But we literally get to see each other only in the night. She is busy with her work. I am shooting round-the-clock. I dreamt of this day when I’d be too busy for diversions. Now, it’s really happened,” he reveals.
