Shah Rukh Khan has always been a sweet-talker and a recent award ceremony saw him turn on the charm for some of Bollywood’s evergreen ladies. The star had something to say to the assembled actresses, starting out with Simi Garewal, who he thanked for encouraging him when he had first arrived in the industry, and ending with Rekha, for whom he declared his undying love.
To Simi he said, “I remember when I had just come to Mumbai, I had lost my mom and dad, my sister was too very unwell at that time. I was a nobody. One fine day I was called on the show of this prolific lady who met me with immense kindness, and indeed boosted my confidence as she featured me on her show. She is none other than Simiji. Through her show I was made a hero overnight. My wife had delivered our first baby too in the same year.”
Next in line was Jaya Prada, who King Khan claimed to always have loved the most. He also spoke about how he has always loved watching Padmini Kolhapure’s performances. “We have grown watching Padminiji’s films she is the most beautiful lady for me,” said the actor.
To Pamela Yash Chopra, whom he refers to as Pam Aunty, Shah Rukh said, “May I take the opportunity and confirm on this platform that in my 25 years of career most of my films that I enacted for are from the YRF production house. They have always treated me like one of their sons.”
Lastly, the actor eloquently expressed his admiration for Rekha’s timeless beauty, adding in his characteristic cheeky touch to his speech, “Last but not the least the most beautiful, sexy and wonderful person none other than Rekha,” he announced, adding, “Today is the saddest day for me as Rekhaji, who has been there and handed over to me almost all the awards that I have received in this career of 25 years of mine has tied rakhi to me today. This is the saddest day for me.”
