Actress Madhuri Dixit was all praise for the digital world and shared anecdotes of how she too is now a part of it, at the recently held FICCI Frames 2017. She said, “In the digital world, magic happens everywhere. Entertainment is no more restricted to the big screen nor is education limited to a classroom. Today there is so much information available online, that it is hard to fool the kids with the kind of fiction we grew up with. So when I tell them Chandamama stories starting with ‘once a woman lived on the moon’, my kids instantly reply ‘mom, do you know there is no gravity on the moon?’ With this generation, only facts and real stories work.”

A while ago, Madhuri saw her husband Dr Sriram Nene working on healthcare on a digital platform. That’s when she thought that she could share her passion for dancing online as well. “I got to learn from Birju Maharaj and Saroj Khan ji. So I wondered how I could get them to teach everyone else who wants to learn dancing? That’s how I entered the world of digital dancing. People from any part of the world can learn to dance from us — anywhere and anytime,” shared Madhuri, whose Bollywood numbers of the ‘90s are famous even today due to her grace and style. “Acting comes easily but dancing is a little difficult as you have to give the right expressions, and perform the dance steps,” she said.

In today’s world of selfie with the stars, Madhuri admits that sometimes, she has had to oblige even with oil in her hair and whilst dressed shabbily as they are her fans. But again, you have to go with the flow.
