Raghava Lawrence to don director's hat again?
While he did walk out of Laxmi Bomb, his tweet hints at him returning to direct Akshay Kumar.
Since the poster of Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmi Bomb released, the movie has been surrounded by controversies. First, its director Raghava Lawrence walked out of the project, miffed over the poster being released without his knowledge.
The director had tweeted about his stepping down, stating clearly that he would not be a part of the Hindi remake of the Kollywood hit Kanchana. “In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project, #Laxmmibomb Hindi remake of Kanchana (sic),” he had tweeted.
While the movie was running without a director, there was news that that the producers had roped in director Farhad Samsi for the film, the first schedule of which was already shot by Raghava before he quit.
And while we were gearing up for Farhad to take up the director’s seat, a new tweet by Raghava has changed the ball game entirely. The actor, sharing the latest update on Laxmi Bomb’s future, hinted at coming back to anchor the film.
“I had tweeted about stepping out of the Hindi film ‘Laxmi Bomb’ a few days back. Post my tweet both Akshay sir fans and my fans have been requesting me to do this film. I’m overwhelmed with their genuine love. But trust me, I’m equally upset for the past 1 week as you are. I was very thrilled to do this film, spent a lot of quality time on pre-production works and have also blocked my dates for this film. Tomorrow, the producers are coming to Chennai to meet me. It’s completely in their hands now, if I’m given proper self-respect for my job, then I’ll think about it. Let’s see after the meeting,” he shared.
We tried to get in touch with Raghava to know more, but the only reply we managed to get was that he was, “busy in meetings”.
