My dad was like Hitler, says Aamir Khan
The Dangal star talks about his relationship with his father, being rebellious and how today's generation is confident about their choices.
During the song launch of Dangal’s Haanikarak Bapu, Aamir Khan seemed to be very enthused. All the journos were requested to bring along their children as the song shows how a father can be difficult in the eyes of his children because of his strict nature. As the conference began, Aamir started asking the kids if their father is strict? Ironically, all the children present informed Aamir that it was the mothers who are far stricter than the fathers.
At the event, Aamir said with a smile, “My father was more like a Hitler! We were really scared of him. As a kid, I was rebellious.” Now in the film Dangal, Aamir, too, is portrayed as a strict father.
We ask if these days can we force kids to choose a profession that may not be of their choice? Aamir replied, “Children today know what they are looking forward to in life. We have to support our children in whatever they would like to take up as their profession. Nonetheless, we can always talk about the benefits of what they choose and discuss it out with them. In this film, these girls are strong enough to be able to play the game. So they do rigorous workouts, that I make them do as a father. That’s why they find me a ‘haanikark bapu’.”
