Post leak, Baahubali 2's climax guarded
All the actors and technicians working on the film have strictly been forbidden from addressing the media about the plot of the sequel.
Why Katappa killed Baahubali is a question that has haunted all of India since Baahubali released in July 2015. Now that the shooting of the sequel is complete, and the movie is in post-production, the leaked footage of Baahubali 2’s conclusion has created panic and paranoia in the film’s team.
“The producers and director, S.S. Rajamouli, have huddled together about the next move. All post-production has been halted until a method to prevent further damage is found,” explains a source close to the Baahubali team.
The movie’s team feels that the only way the sequel’s intrigue, suspense and curiosity-value can be preserved is by ensuring the plot isn’t leaked. All the actors and technicians working on the film have strictly been forbidden from addressing the media about the plot of the sequel.
The film’s writer, Vijayendra Prasad, says that there is little the team can do to prevent such outrage from happening again. “What happened recently (the piracy) was despicable,” he says. “Luckily the plot wasn’t revealed. But there is not much we can do to stop such incidents from happening. There are 250 technicians working on post-production. Anyone who feels like showing off to his friends can record and leak the footage. We can only appeal to the good sense of the people who are tempted to do such things.”
