Katrina Kaif is hungry for roles
The actress wants to be a part of big-ticket movies like Batti Gul Meter Chalu, and '83 now, besides picking up Krrish 4 opposite Hrithik Roshan.
Katrina Kaif is on a role-shopping spree. She sent out feelers to many forthcoming projects, including Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Kabir Khan’s ’83. And in both movies she may well be a part of a virgin pair — with Shahid Kapoor in Batti Gul and with Ranveer Singh in the latter movie.
However, her presence isn’t finalised yet. Sources say that while Batti Gul requires a North Indian leading lady for Shahid, ’83 will need her to play the very-Punjabi Romi Dev, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev’s wife.
A source close to the project explains, “Katrina is very close to Kabir and his wife Mini Mathur. And Kabir, who has worked with Katrina in two earlier films does want to cast her, and she’s very keen too. Kabir is thinking of flexing the character’s personality to suit Katrina. And if a Punjabi Akshay Kumar can play the South Indian Pad Man Arunachalam Muruganantham, why can’t the non-Punjabi Katrina play Romi?”
While these two movies work out kinks to get Katrina on-board, the actress seems certain to step into the shoes of Priyanka Chopra for the next instalment of Krrish. Sources in the know say that father-son duo Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan are keen to cast her for Krrish 4.
“She hit it off with Hrithik during Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Bang Bang,” says a source in the know. “And Krrish 4 is just the masala dossier that Katrina’s career needs right now. She’s made it known that she wants to be a part of the next instalment, and the Roshans are game.”
