The makers of Thugs of Hindostan are happy with their new music directors Ajay and Atul Gogavale, after composer trio Shankar Ehsaan and Loy backed out from the film. At a recent session, when the big bosses behind the YRF bankrolled film heard the music of the film again, they realised that they had a big winner on their hands.

“Shankar Ehsaan and Loy were earlier the composers of the film. But the film’s script had been undergoing changes so the trio backed out because they had Manikarnika also on their hands. They did not want to take on two biggies together,” says a source.

The composers then suggested Ajay and Atul to Aamir Khan, which the actor agreed to. “The name was suggested as the duo has been giving a lot of chartbusters. Now Aamir and Aditya Chopra want to use the songs to promote the film initially, as they feel it has a lot of mass appeal,” adds the source.

Thugs of Hindostan is based on Colonel Philip Meadows Taylor’s book Confessions of a Thug written almost two centuries ago in 1839.

The film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh apart from Aamir Khan.
