First PadMan and now a short film talking on menstruation; Mrs. Funny Bones is continuing to lending her support to causes relating women.

Twinkle has come forward to support a short film — First Period, written and directed by Mozez Singh who directed the 2016 film Zubaan.

The actor-turned-author launched the short film across social media platforms on Monday, 28 May, which happens to be the World Menstrual Day.

The director feels that Twinkle’s support will help the film reach far. “Her support will help the film reach far and wide. That would be amazing for the issue at hand. Everyone needs to know that menstrual hygiene is a serious issue and that it needs to be dealt with urgently,” says Mozez.

“She has been such an inspiring voice on this topic. She has written a beautiful story in her book and made a whole feature film on it. She stands for what she believes. And she was the first person I shared the film with once it was done,” adds Mozez.

He further tells that Twinkle thought the film was emphatic and decided to launch it.

First Period deals with the sensitive subject of the day. The tables are flipped in the film as it talks about the first period from a boy’s viewpoint. And shows a world where women don’t exist.

Twinkle who took the social media platform to launch the short film gave an interesting caption. “In order to have a clear perspective sometimes you have to examine things from all angles including turning them upside down and you have done that brilliantly @MozezSingh #Menstrual HygieneDay. (sic),” read her caption.
