Varun Dhawan's price hike
Varun Dhawan moves to the next level when it comes to his professional charges, irrespective of the production house.
Varun Dhawan has been cast in Yash Raj Film’s Sui Dhaaga: Made in India, which is to be directed by Sharat Katariya. Rumour has it that he was paid more than what he received for Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, his last box office hit.
Varun decided to hike his price even though it was a Yash Raj movie. Most actors get paid much less when they work for the country’s premier production house, but Varun did not want to compromise on his price at all. More so, since Ranbir Kapoor was considered for the lead earlier, but he did not sign the film.
“YRF has a policy that we do not comment about the casting process or the actors who yet to be finalised for the project,” says a YRF spokesperson, when asked about Ranbir being replaced by Varun Dhawan in the film.
So, what was Varun’s final remuneration? “As a policy, YRF doesn’t share any details about our artist’s compensation,” we were told. All said and done; it is a win-win situation for Varun as he has managed to get the film on his monetary terms. Way to go, we say.
