Asked to do film for nominal charge: Pankaj Tripathi

But working for a nominal charge when you throw equal or more amount of time and efforts isn't fair, rues the actor.

Known for his method acting and challenging roles, Pankaj Tripathi has been a part of many popular films such as Agneepath, Gangs of Wasseypur I and II, Fukrey, Fukrey Returns, and Newton to name a few.

A critically acclaimed actor, even the audience has applauded and appreciated his performances. Even though he has mostly played supporting roles, they drove the plot as much as a lead. The Anaarkali of Aarah actor shares the pay disparity in the industry, how he is often asked to sign up bulk dates and isn’t even offered half of the leading actor’s pay. 

 “I have been asked several times to do a film for a nominal charge as the film might look good on my filmography. I do a film which is good for the society and has a strong message for its betterment,” he says.

He further adds that he does commercial films to earn enough. “I do a commercial film on and off in a year as it gives me enough money to live. But working for a nominal charge when you throw equal or more amount of time and efforts isn’t fair,” rues the actor.

 Pankaj is now geared up to act alongside actor Rajinikanth in their upcoming multilingual film Kaala Karikalan releasing in April, where he plays the role of a policeman.
