Salman Khan set to show his Dum on TV
After a gap of nine years, the actor is ready to take the small screen by a storm with his gaming show Dus Ka Dum.
After some relief in the blackbuck case and with Race 3 all set to release, Salman Khan doesn’t seem to be stopping. The actor will be back on small screen with his show Dus Ka Dum after a gap of nine years.
And since the contestants of the show are aam admi and Salman is the most popular actor amongst the masses, it was an obvious choice for the channel to wait for the actor.
“Yes, I heard that they waited for almost nine years for me. Actually, we were to come up with the show but something or the other happened and all fizzled out,” says Salman.
However, the actor reveals he was nervous when he was offered his television debut. “Nine years ago when I decided to do Dus Ka Dum, I was literally nervous to host the show. I went to dad [Salim Khan] seeking his advice – he said just be yourself. And so I decided to be the way I am with guests at home,” says Salman, adding, “This time again I found the contestants who are very simple and naive. They have no pretense before the cameras at all. The contestants are my inspiration. In fact, their simplicity makes me comfortable, which in turn makes my job easier. But. while being myself, I also have the responsibility of not asking something to the contestants that may offend them. Also, the viewers should like what I present to them.”
When asked what troubled him the most during his struggling days, he says, “I was always thinking whether I would be able to do something in my life. What will be my future? Will I be able to earn money? What will it be like?.”
Noted as one of the popular and favourite among masses Salman attributes it to being fortunate and professional. “Jise zindigi sikhaye use kaun haraye (To whom life teaches, who can defeat them),” he says.
And having experienced various ups and downs, especially this year, what keeps him going. “It is the strong thought process that I have within myself. Life has been like a holiday for me. Working is what I prefer doing, especially for the people and the entire team that is engaged with it,” says Salman.
And he is quick to add that he hardly works and has the luxury to walk out whenever his job is over.
“I come by 11 or so in the morning. But for all those who work on the sets, be it the tailor, hair or makeup people, there is work being generated for all of them. This is the notion that keeps me going always. It is good for all of them to be working every day,” smiles Salman.
