Saif Ali Khan enamoured by digital space
The eight-episode mini-series directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte.
Saif Ali Khan, an actor who has never shied away from experimentation, has ventured into the digital space with the Netflix web-series Sacred Games.
Ask the actor what made him want to get into this space, and he says, “I heard that Netflix was doing something in India, and I thought Illuminati Films should do something in the digital space. I also thought that a mafia show would be better than a love story or a comedy; a show about cops and the mafia, but presented in a new light.”
When the actor was offered the show, he grabbed the opportunity “I would’ve done exactly the same thing, but I was offered the show as an actor, and I jumped at it! I thought it was great,” he says.
Elaborating on the premise of the show, he says, “Sacred Games focuses on Sartaj Singh, a seasoned and cynical officer of the Mumbai Police, who is summoned by an anonymous tip that promises him an opportunity to capture the powerful Ganesh Gaitonde, the criminal overlord of the G-Company.”
