Shekar Kapur to make a film on Amish Tripathi's books?
The idea was born on Twitter
There’s a possibility that Shekar Kapur, once one of the leading Indian filmmakers in Hollywood along with the likes of Manoj Night Shyamalan, will be making a movie based on Amish Tripathi’s Ram Chandra series of novels. It all began with a Twitter conversation.
In a chat revolving around his shelved film Paani with the late Sushant Singh Rajput and his reaction to the actor’s death, among other things, a Twitter user asked Kapur to direct a film on Tripathi’s novels, and the director said he would if the author was keen on the idea.
“If Amish Tripathi agrees, I would happily do so,” he said.
Taking up the thread, Amish quickly tweeted, “Let the discussions begin!”
We’re not sure if the director of films like Masoom and Bandit Queen, and the Shiva Trilogy writer will decide to talk.
