Prince's video appearance sparks backlash
Even though there was no hologram, fans are stunned that Justin would sidestep the legend's wishes to do a gig, technologically.
Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance at the superbowl was laden with the feeling that something wasn’t right. For the performance, EOnline.com reports that the star chose to feature video of the late icon Prince projected onto a giant white curtain as Timberlake sat at a white piano and performed I Would Die 4 U along with the star’s vocals.
Before the big day, reports circulated claiming this year’s halftime performer was planning to use a hologram of Prince, inciting a rejection from Prince's former collaborator Sheila E.
“Prince told me don’t ever let anyone do a hologram of me. Not cool if this happens!” she tweeted on Saturday ahead of the show.” Even though there was no hologram, fans are stunned that Justin would sidestep the legend’s wishes to do a gig, technologically.
