Ari Mannis sheds light on his journey as a stand up comedian

Stand up comedy might just look like someone coming up with a string of jokes with an undying effort to leave the audience in splits. But the art of stand up needs years to master and there is only a handful out of every aspirant stand up comic who finally make it big on the stage. Other than a quality set of jokes, interacting well with the audience, proper delivery, expressions, choice of words, non-offensive jokes- these all come into play in the construction of a successful gig.

Ari Mannis is an example of breaking stereotypes and proving that this art can be a legit career option. Growing up in San Diego in California, being a stand up comic was the last thing he aspired to be. Yet Ari has left his mark on this art. You name any mainstream media, Ari has made his presence felt.

Mannis attended New Mexico Military Institute for High School in Roswell, New Mexico and graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz where he studied film and digital media. After graduating college, Mannis moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began his stand-up career.

Growing up in the heart of comedy of the world, the challenge to establish yourself as a Mr.Funnybones is not an easy task. Following the footsteps of big names like Louis CK, Russell Peters, Gabriel Iglesias in famous comedy clubs calls for some talent.

In 2017 he appeared on MTV Greatest Party Stories Ever and has performed in festivals such as Kaaboo Music and Comedy Festival, as well at The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. Mannis' comedy has been featured in online forums such as College Humor, FunnyOrDie, and Nerdist. He currently does a monthly comedy show in the living room of his apartment which has been featured on Airbnb, Yelp, Forbes, LA Weekly, and Comedy Vortex.

In 2018, he was the winner of the KAABOO Discovery Tour. Mannis also started his comedy news and podcast network called, StandUpTalk in which his podcast "Unlicensed Therapy," can be found. "Unlicensed Therapy," has been featured on SoundCloud and iTunes where he has gained over 500,000 subscribers

Ari has video from Laugh Factory, Airbnb on Youtube with an average of over 20000 views on each one.

Leaving a mark on every mainstream media platform, Mannis proves that talent always finds a way, no matter what the field is.
