Sandra Bullock donates $5,000 to pool man

The campaign's original goal was to raise around $5,900 to help Svend secure an apartment in Los Angeles and buy groceries.

Sandra Bullock has donated $5,000 to Svend Petersen, who formerly served as pool manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel for 40 years.

According to JustJared.com, the 52-year-old actress got to know about Svend through an online fund-raising campaign. He was tricked into some bad real estate deals, which eventually resulted into him losing his home. He recorded an emotional YouTube plea, asking viewers to share money for him to get back on his feet. “I’ve been homeless for five months, and I’m calling on you because I need help real bad. I wish you would spare one, two, or three dollars, and I really appreciate it very much. Thank you very much, God bless,” Svend can be heard saying in the video.

After hearing his story, Sandra Bullock took it upon herself to donate $5,000 to the campaign. And, wrote the following message on the campaign’s page, “Everything is going to be ok!” Louis Bullock (My son) (sic).”

The campaign’s original goal was to raise around $5,900 to help Svend secure an apartment in Los Angeles and buy groceries. The campaign has now reached over $33,000 in 11 days.
