Nicki Minaj hands out 500 turkeys

Nicki Minaj has always been about giving back to her community and honouring her roots. The rapper, for this Thanksgiving season, went back to Queens where she grew up and distributed over 500 turkeys to the residents and fans, reports JustJared.com.

Nicki with her mother, Carol, was spotted handing over turkeys and meals, while she also obliged fans with pictures and selfies.

Nicki also stopped to take a photo with NYPD’s Commanding Officer Jerry O’Sullivan, who took to Twitter to share a couple of snapshots  from event. “Who says rappers don’t give back to the neighborhood they come from? @NICKIMINAJ came out and gave over 500 turkeys to the residence of South Jamaica (sic),” the police tweeted.
