Mark Ruffalo calls violence against women 'epidemic', says they are #NotInvisible

Los Angeles: Actor-activist Mark Ruffalo has appealed to people to spread awareness about women who suffer from violence, saying they are "not invisible".

The 50-year-old actor took to Instagram where he held a placard reading a hashtag 'NotInvisible' and urged the masses to educate others about the real dangers of the epidemic.

"84 per cent of Native American women experience violence in their lifetime. But outside of Indian Country, few people are aware of this epidemic. It's time to raise awareness and show that these women are #NotInvisible," Ruffalo captioned the post.

'The Hulk' star has been a vocal advocate of equality, women rights and a staunch critic of racism and violence.
