Los Angeles: Singer John Mayer has been hospitalised following an emergency appendectomy.
The news was shared by Mayer's band Dead and Company, which also consists of Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, on its official Twitter handle.
"Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed," it said.
"All tickets for the December 5 show will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Information on the rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible. Should ticket holders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at point of purchase," it added.
The band's next scheduled performance is set for December 7 in Orlando, Florida, but it is not yet confirmed whether the singer will take part in it or not.
