Here are some tips to dazzle your way through the ongoing wedding season.
Traditional look: When wearing a traditional outfit, opt for subtle makeup. Shimmery gold smokey eyes are the best choice, with a hint of rose shimmer either on the crease or outer edges. Define your eyes with eyeliner to complete the traditional look and kohl smudged softly to accentuate them further. Define your cheeks and jawline with a matte bronzer. Add a hint of blush to the apple of your cheeks and start defining your lips with a red lip pencil and fill in. Finish by dusting soft gold illuminator to the high point of the cheeks and centre of the face.
All about the eyes: Match the colour of your eye shadow to your outfit or go for a complete contrast. Bright fuschia, blue, mint green, teal, bronze, shimmery warm gold or contrasting grey/black smokey eyes go well with pastel shades. Do not forget to fill in and groom your eyebrows. Cream or matte bronzer is the right way to lift those cheekbones and accentuate the jawline. A touch of blush and soft pink, coral or nude lips with gloss is just the way to finish this look. Beautiful dewy skin: If you are not into colourful eye shadows, stick to neutral shades. Opt for matte dewy eyeshadows, usually in cream form to have a non-creasy creamy look. Definition becomes important when working with soft tones or pastels. Gold, bronze and plum are good for Indian skin tones. In that case, opt for well sculpted but blended cheekbones and a dewy finish. Use of loose pigments that have a sheen to it, also called illuminators, or cream-based blush is a good way to achieve this look. The author is a make-up and beauty expert.
