Good news for all shimmer and sparkle lovers out there! Glitter is back and is on point this season – and just in time for the festivities. In fact, no makeup artiste, working backstage during this season's fashion shows managed to do without a little glitter this year. It was seen on the fashion runways of Giambattista, Vali, Knezo, Burberry, Tarun Tahliani’s shows, and the like. There are so many ways you can use glitter – as an eyeliner, body glitter, or just eye shadow. Just be careful to not overdo it though. A clever use of glitter as a part of your look can really enhance your makeup. Glitter can make your selfies go viral! So let's change the way you do glitter.
Glitter tears (cheeks): Loose glitter is applied to the outer corners of your eyes. Also along the top of the cheekbones. Gold will flatter most skin tones. Just remember to go easy glitzy; you don't want to be shinier than a disco ball!
Eyeliner: A carefully applied streak of glitter along your upper lash line will give you that glint in your eyes! Use only glitter or above black eyeliner for that perfect party look.
Eye shadow: This is important. Keep glitter eye shadow organic and random. A light dab applied with your fingers over the top of your top lid. Make sure to use a big enough grade of glitter and not something jet milled.
Highlighter: A subtle way to incorporate glitter used as highlighter is to find a product with finely crushed pigments. Once you have that, use it to highlight the higher planes of your face for a sultry yet fabulous look.
