Following the All India Football Federation’s technical committee meeting on Wednesday, it appears that no decision has been taken over Stephen Constantine’s future as the national team manager.

The Englishman’s contract, due to expire in February, was expected to be one of the key points of discussion during the meeting in Mumbai, with former Bengaluru FC head coach Ashley Westwood touted to be in favour amongst few members in the committee.

The former Blackburn Rovers assistant manager is currently without a club and is working as a pundit for the Indian Super League.

“The technical committee hasn’t decided anything as yet. Stephen is not in India and is expected to return by November 14. Once he’s back, we’ll have a meeting and see what can be done. The committee recognises the work he’s done with the national team and we would like to know what his plans are, going into the new season,” according to reports quoting a committee member.

When reached out, Westwood politely declined to comment on the matter.

Constantine had a tough start to his second stint as the national team manager but has turned it around with some strong performances and results off late. The change in fortunes has also seen the team climb up to 137th in the Fifa world rankings.
