Health Insurance is not mandatory for visiting Thailand but is highly recommended. Visitor Guard® explains why?
Nevertheless, travelers will still be required to show proof of complete vaccination, or a negative PCR done before 72 hours
Traveling to Thailand has become easier. After the slow and cautious lifting of travel bans due to the pandemic, Thailand is lifting two more travel requirements- Thailand Pass and $10,000 health insurance.
From July 1, travelers will no longer need health insurance and Thailand Pass to enter the country. On May 1, the country announced that fully vaccinated travelers would no longer be required to show negative RT-PCR tests upon arrival.
Santi Sawangcharoen, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand New York office, says, ‘We are thrilled to announce the removal of the 'Thailand Pass' and $10,000 health insurance requirements for international visitors beginning July 1, as it further simplifies the ability for all to experience the vibrant culture, cuisine, and natural beauty of Amazing Thailand.’
Nevertheless, travelers will still be required to show proof of complete vaccination, or a negative PCR done before 72 hours. As per the Tourism Authority of Thailand, unvaccinated travelers without a COVID-19 test must pay for and take one upon arrival.
Thailand is almost back to being normal. The country also dropped its facemask policy in June. However, it is recommended to wear facemasks in crowded places. Thailand eases travel restrictions and requirements in the hope that it can restore its tourism sectors.
Travelers are informed that there can be random checks on arrival at Thailand’s international airports and land borders. All 77 provinces are green zones, meaning no more COVID-19 travel-related restrictions. However, travelers are expected to maintain safety and hygiene practices for their safety and those around them.
Though carrying a travel insurance plan is dropped, Visitor Guard® recommends buying it for foreign visitors going to Thailand.
Pallavi Sadekar at Visitor Guard ® says; “An insurance plan helps cover the medical expenses for new illnesses and injuries that would otherwise be overly expensive for tourists to cover out of pocket for the bills in an unfamiliar land. Insurance plans can cover hospitalization charges, special procedures, prescriptions and drugs, surgeries, dental pain, emergency transportation, and more.”
Coronavirus seems like another hassle to travelers, and there is a good reason for travelers to buy COVID-19 insurance coverage. Many policies can cover you for isolation, testing, quarantine, treatment, medications, etc. The more comprehensive policy the traveler buys, the better protection they receive. Some policies also come with travel-related benefits, covering trip cancellation, trip delay, trip interruption, baggage loss and personal effects, loss of passport and documents, etc.
Visitor Guard® has made it quite easy for tourists to find Thailand travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage. The plans are robust, affordable, and can suit everyone’s travel criteria and needs. These policies can keep everybody financially stable during a time of medical emergency in Thailand.
Now, with the borders open and the traveling requirements relaxed, Thailand is welcoming the post-pandemic stage. Keeping safety in mind, the government will soon announce a set of new guidelines for residents and foreign visitors.
Currently, CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has listed Thailand as Level 3: High level of COVID-19. The CDC’s advisory reads, ‘Make sure you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before traveling to Thailand. If you are not up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines, avoid travel to Thailand. Even if you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines, you may still be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19.’
COVID-19 fear is still lingering in the minds of travelers. Therefore, getting health insurance with COVID-19 coverage is recommended. Visitor Guard® has made travelling very relaxed and stress-free, with the plans they offer. Check the plans, compare them, and get free quotes.
