Akhilesh is modern-day Sher Shah Suri: Minister

Senior UP minister Rajendra Chaudhary has said that UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav would be remembered for a long time for making the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

Comparing the CM to Mughal emperor Sher Shah Suri, who made the Grand Trunk Road, he said that Mr Yadav would be remembered for making the expresswa. He added that the expressway would emerge as a lifeline of the economy in the state and the country — just like the Grand Trunk Road.

“By ensuring the completion of the 302-km expressway in a record 22 months, Akhilesh Yadav has scripted a new chapter of development in the history of the state and he will always be known for this,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function.

The minister, who holds the political pension portfolio in the UP government, is invariably seen with the CM at all functions and is known for his proximity to him.

He was recently removed from the party spokesman post after Shivpal Yadav took over as state Samajwadi Party president.
