Girl from naxal-infested Dantewada gets 99th rank

Bhopal: A girl from Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Bastar region has secured 99th rank in the UPSC exam, results of which were declared on Wednesday.

Namrata Jain, an engineering graduate, has cracked the civil service exam in the second attempt.

She is daughter of Jawahar Jain, a businessman in Geedam, a Naxal-stronghold, in Dantewada district.

Namrata had undertaken coaching for interview at the Centre run by Dantewada district administration, after clearing the written exam.

The Centre set up four years ago gives coaching for civil service exam to students of Maoist-affected Bastar region.
