Rahul Gandhi brain behind Cong-JD(S) pact on govt

Bengaluru: Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is the brain behind the signing of an agreement between the Congress and JD(S), that’s responsible for a smooth functioning of the coalition government in Karnataka.

This is, perhaps, for the first time in the history of coalition government in the state, that an agreement has been signed between the partners to leave no scope for misunderstanding. No such agreement was sig-ned between the partners in the Congress-JD(S) coalition government of 2004 or the  BJP-JD(S) government of 2006.

“It was Rahulji’s idea to have an agreement between the Congress and JD(S)... I have signed the agreement on behalf of the Congress, and JD(S) national secretary general has sign-ed on behalf of his par-ty,” Congress leader K.C. Venugopal said.
