Eyes on 2019, Rahul, Shah to visit UP on July 4, 5

Lucknow: The president of the BJP and the Congress will be in Uttar Pradesh on July 4 and 5 to give momentum to preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

BJP president Amit Shah will be in Varanasi on Wednesday where he will be meeting members of the party’s social media team.

Mr Shah will be addressing the 3000 odd social media volunteers for the general elections, which is likely to witness a more aggressive battle in the virtual world.

According to head of the BJP IT cell, Sanjay Rai, all those who support the party’s ideology on the social media will be eligible to participate in the meeting by registering themselves online.

Mr Shah will travel to Agra on Thursday where he will address meetings with elected representatives and party leaders of Braj region, western Uttar Pradesh as well as Kanpur-Bundelkhand region.

Meanwhile, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will be visiting his constituency Amethi on Wednesday and Thursday. He will be meeting senior leaders of the party to chalk out the electoral strategy for U.P. in 2019 and also take stock of the booth level preparations.

Mr Gandhi is also expected to visit the family of a Muslim farmer who recently died at a government procurement centre, after waiting for days to sell his produce.
