Amit Shah's poll war-room likely to shift to Indore
The team is going to submit its report to Mr Shah by second week of this month, sources added.
Bhopal: BJP national president Amit Shah may establish his war-room in Indore in Madhya Pradesh to oversee party’s poll preparations in election-bound states of MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
Indore may be chosen over Bhopal for setting up Mr Shah’s poll war-room because of better flight connectivity the city enjoyed, a senior BJP leader, who has been assigned the task of selecting suitable accommodation for the purpose, told this newspaper on Thursday on the condition of anonymity.
“Earlier, Bhopal was chosen as Mr Shah’s temporary abode to monitor poll preparations because of its geographical location,” the BJP leader said. Bhopal is almost the middle point between Jaipur and Raipur in Chhattisgarh. However, it has been found that flight connectivity to Bhopal is poor and Indore has better flight connectivity than Bhopal. Hence, the national party leadership is mulling to set up Mr Shah’s war room in Indore, instead of Bhopal”, the BJP leader said.
In fact, an official bungalow of a BJP Rajya Sabha member here was being spruced up to convert it as temporary abode of Mr Shah during the polls.
“Final decision on location of Mr Shah’s war room will be taken within a week”, sources indicated.
Meanwhile, Mr Shah’s personal election management team has already reached Madhya Pradesh and was currently touring across the state to get feedbacks on people’s mood.
The team is going to submit its report to Mr Shah by second week of this month, sources added.
The team has also been entrusted with the task of assessing the strength and weaknesses of BJP in each of 230 assembly constituencies in MP.
