Bhubaneswar: Speculation is again rife over a possible change of guard in Odisha Pradesh Congess Committee (PCC) as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president has called on senior leaders of the party from Odisha for a meeting.

The senior leaders of the Congress will be leaving for New Delhi on September 5, official sources said.

The state leaders will meet Rahul Gandhi and discussion on Pradesh Congess Committee  selection and other issues relating to organisational restructuring are likely to be taken up at the meeting.

The development came after the team of three AICC central observers   on August 14 submitted its report after assessing the party’s situation in Odisha in the backdrop of growing demand over PCC change in the state.

The team, comprising former Union minister Jeetendra Singh, party MPs Tamradhwaj Sahu and Gaurav Gogoi, was also accompanied by AICC general secretary in-charge Odisha B.K. Hariprasad.
