New Delhi: In a multi-fold jump from four years back, the average road length constructed per day in the financial year 2017-18 was 26.93km, compared to  11.67km in FY 2013-14.

These figures were highlighted prominently to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday when he held a review meeting of key infrastructure sectors mainly road, rural and urban housing, railways, airports and ports.

In the course of the presentation made by Niti Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant, it was noted that the pace of road construction has picked up significantly. a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

Secretaries of key ministries were also present in the meeting, official sources said.
