BSF foils infiltration bid, kills Pak intruder
The shooting incident had taken place in Chak Dolma area in the IB's Samba sector on Wednesday.
SRINAGAR: The Border Security Force (BSF) said on Thursday that it has foiled an infiltration bid from across the border in Arnia sector of Jammu district by killing an intruder.
It also claimed destroying two Pakistani forward posts along the International Border (IB) in retaliation to the killing of a BSF jawan in sniper fire.
The shooting incident had taken place in Chak Dolma area in the IB’s Samba sector on Wednesday, resulting in the death of BSF Head-Constable R.P. Hazra, incidentally on his birthday.
A spokesman of the BSF said in Jammu that its alert jawans after noticing suspicious movement of two to three persons near the Nikowal border outpost in Arnia sector around 5.45 am on Thursday challenged them and then opened fire killing one of the intruders. “The other infiltrators fled back into the Pakistani territory,” the spokesman said.
