Congress reviving Simi in MP, alleges BJP president
While many Simi activists were put behind bars, some others were killed in encounters with the police in the state during the period.
Bhopal: BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday accused the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh of trying to revive outlawed outfit Students’ Islamic Movement of India (Simi) in the state.
Addressing an election rally in Rewa, Mr Shah said the Simi network in the state was destroyed during the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.
While many Simi activists were put behind bars, some others were killed in encounters with the police in the state during the period.
“The Congress after coming to power in MP is trying to revive Simi in the state. I warn the chief minister not to play with security of the country,” Mr Shah said.
“It does not matter whether we get votes or not. Elections will come and go. But, we will never allow others to compromise with security of the country,” he said.
He also accused the chief minister of harassing BJP workers in MP by implicating them in false cases.
