Patna: Bihar’s deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has offered to find a suitable bride for RJD chief Lalu Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap.

The deputy CM has, however, put three conditions for finding a match. In a tweet, Mr Modi said that he is “ready to find a bride for Tej Pratap, but on three conditions — he will not accept dowry, take a pledge to donate his organs and no threatening to disrupt any marriage”.

Sources said that the tweet was a reply to Tej Pratap who, while referring Sushil Kumar Modi as “uncle”, had urged him “to look for a suitable bride”.

This comes days after Tej Pratap threatened to disrupt the wedding ceremony of Mr Modi’s son. Tej Pratap’s comments had stoked a controversy and were strongly condemned by political leaders here. “I will thrash him inside his house and hold a public meeting at the wedding venue to expose him”, Tej Pratap had said while delivering a speech in Aurangabad last month.

Mr Modi while reacting strongly on the issue had sought an apology from him and had also urged Lalu Yadav to stop his sons from making a provocative statement.

“This kind of statement was not expected from Tej Partap who is the son of Lalu Yadav. I urge Lalu Yadav to stop his sons from making such statement,” the deputy chief minister had said while reacting against Tej Pratap Yadav’s comments.
