Bhubaneswar: A poster purportedly put up by the Maoists was on Monday found at Baramunda bus stand creating panic among locals here.

The poster was put up on the wall with a message demanding the government to release top Maoist leader Sabyasac-hi Panda from jail in seven days or else the missing Kashmiri student Suhail Aijaz will be killed.

Suhail, a student of AIIMS (Bhubaneswar) is missing since February 9.

The poster mentions that Suhail is in the custody of Maoists.

“If the Odisha government fails to release Sabyasachi Panda, Suh-ail will be killed,” it said.

The poster threatens explosions at Bhubane-swar railway station and some police stations in Bhubaneswar on March 11 if their demand is not met.

While there is no breakthrough in the missing Kashmiri student and a team of commissionerate police returned Bhubaneswar from Kolkata clueless about him, the latest poster indicates Maoist link in connection with missing of Suhail, who is yet to be traced by the police.

The poster has posed as a bigger challenge to the police, who are yet to clear the authenticity of the poster.

“The Twin City commissionerate of police is investigating into the authenticity of the poster,” the DCP said.
