Seers slam minister status to 5 MP sadhus

Bhopal: Controversy over granting status of minister of state to five spiritual leaders by Madhya Pradesh government has refused to die down.

Seers heading trustees of different shrines in the state on Thursday staged a demonstration demanding fulfillment of their 15-point charter of demands, including withdrawal of order according minister of state status to five religious leaders.

“It is unethical to accept benefits from the government by the saints. We demand withdrawal of order to grant minister status to the five seers forthwith. Besides, we demand the government to annul the recent order to take control of managements of various shrines and ashrams in the state,” Swamy Giriraj Maharaj told reporters. He issued an ultimatum to the government, saying that the seers of MP would march to the CM’s residence if their demands were not met within 24 hours.
