Gross Divisive Politics: Rahul's dig at GDP dip
Agriculture GVA growth 1.7% low, fiscal deficit 8 year high, stalled projects also high.
New Delhi: A day after the Central Statistics Office predicted that India’s GDP would slow down to 6.5% in 2017-’18 from 7.1% in the previous year, Congress president Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the Central government. In a tweet Mr Gandhi said, “FM Jaitley’s genius combines with Mr Modi’s Gross Divisive Politics (GDP) to give India: new investment at a 13 year low; bank credit growth at 63 year low, job creation at 8 year low, agriculture GVA growth 1.7% low, fiscal deficit 8 year high, stalled projects also high.”
Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram also hit out at the government, saying, “No amount of sugar coating, false bravado and rhetoric along with headlines management can conceal the stark reality. Our fears and warnings have proved true.”
