Politicians facing credibility crisis, says Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Home minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that politicians in the country were facing a credibility crisis largely on account of the perception that there was vast difference between their deeds and words.
The Home minister was speaking at a function in the Capital organised by FICCI to felicitate young women entrepreneurs. There was a general perception, the minister added, that politicians cannot succeed without saying lies. “Since I work in the political field, I realise that politicians have a credibility crisis and there was a common perception that there is a lot of difference between their action and words,” he said.
Mr Singh said that during campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, he assured voters in his constituency of Lucknow that would try to execute the work required by them instead of giving any false promises.
“I will never lie to the electorate knowingly under any situation. The only thing I say is that if you bless me I will try my best to help complete any project,’’ home minister Rajnath Singh added.
