PM Modi slams Cong for its vote bank, dynastic politics
According to Mr Modi, the BJP has never been shy of answering to the people.
Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked people not to vote for the Congress because it failed in governance when in power and has now failed as an Opposition party. He said that the Congress believes in vote bank politics, divides people to stay in power and pursues dynastic politics.
Mr Modi told people that there is sea of difference between the Congress and the BJP. “Zameen-aasman ka antar hai. One indulges in vote-bank politics and divides people on religion, caste, class and gender basis, and the BJP, which has ushered in a new kind of politics, believes in sarv jan hitay, sarv jan sukhay (well being and happiness of everyone),” he said while addressing the BJP’s booth workers in Vijay Sankalp Rally to mark the end of chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s Rajashan Gaurav Yatra in Ajmer on Saturday. According to Mr Modi, Indians are very talented and capable of taking the country to new highs, but are held back by vote bank politics. “For 60 years, the only thing the Congress did was to put people against each other for its own good,” he said adding that the BJP’s direction is correct, policies are clear and there is no doubt about its intentions.
“The country has mov-ed to the right direction after a long time, now don’t give them another chance,” he said.
Without naming the Gandhi family, Mr Modi accused the Congress of not being answerable to or concerned about the people but only interested in “one family”.
“Vasundharaji was saying that a senior Congress leader did not come to the state Assembly and never asked a question. Why are you surprised Vasundharaji, this is what they do everywhere. They rotate around and worship only one family,” he said.
According to Mr Modi, the BJP has never been shy of answering to the people. He said it is easy to go on yatra while in Opposition because one can say anything, but taking a yatra while in power to give people account of the work done in five years is tough. Taking another dig at the Congress he said, “Their high command is one family but for us the people are high command.”
The Prime Minister also came down heavily on the Congress for showing “disrespect” to the armed forces. He said that when surgical strikes happened, the Congress had the audacity to doubt it. “Our brave soldiers are capable of giving a befitting reply to the enemy but that too was politicised by the Congress. Such thinking and politics is shameful,” he said.
Asking people if they have any hope and expectations from the Congress, Mr Modi said, “Rajasthan has a trend of electing the Congress and BJP alternatively. But this time the trend will be changed. People will once again vote for the BJP and victory is ensured.”
